What is a sibling doula?

 A sibling doula is a specialized support person for the older children in a family as they welcome a new baby. A sibling doula is on-call for the weeks surrounding a birthing parent's due date, ready to step in at a moment's notice, day or night, when labor begins. 

• Provides emotional and educational support, as well as helping to explain the birth process in an age-appropriate way.

• Help to facilitate sibling involvement during labor if the family chooses to have older children present for the birth.

• A sibling doula allows the birthing person and their partner to focus entirely on the labor and birth, knowing that their older children are safe and secure.
